Request Fields
Introduction
Request fields are the fields you have to fill out when your configurator is done and you want to get the quote. As per default there’s a request field for name and for email. The request field can be extended for further information about the customer. For example: if you want to have the customer to fill out which company they represent or maybe a phone number. You can also add a completely now tab if another set of information should be available. The request fields will be shown after the configuration if a certain product is finished in the Contact details tab.
How to add a Request Field
To add a request field, follow these steps:
-
Navigate to Request Fields under the Settings section:
Go to the Request Fields section under the Settings menu. -
Click Add request field:
Select this option to begin adding a request field. -
Fill out the fields:
Here there are three tabs: General, Fields and Translation.General tab:
Here you can add the general information about the request field:
- Field name: This is the name of the request field. It will be shown in the tabs under Contact information.
- Sorting: This can be any number. We recommend not setting the number to a negative. If the number 0 is set, this will be added to the first and already existing tab, where name and email is already displayed as a default. If set to 1 this will create a new tab, and the same for 2 and so on.
Field tab:
Here you can add the actual fields that should be displayed in your Contact information.
- Click the add input button: This adds a new request field.
- Name: Now you have to specify the name of the request field, it could be phone number for example if that’s what you want to add to your request field.
- Type: Can be set to either: Text field, number, test area or checkbox depending on which type of request field you want to add. If it’s phone number it’s recommended to select number, so the input is only accepting numbers.
- Translation fields: The extra fields is for translation of that specific request field. If you added a request field called “Phone Number” and you support other languages such a danish the following field for danish should be named “Telefon Nummer”.
Translations
Here you can add different translations to your request field’s tab name.
- Field name: Depending on how many languages your configurator supports this tab will generate a field for each language. The field name is, as in the general step, the name of the field tab. This could for example be the first tab called something similar to “Contact Information”. If you support danish language the field for Danish should be translated to “Kontakt Information”.
-
Save and back button:
Once you’ve entered the necessary information, click the “Save and back” button to add a new request field.
When you have added a request field you can deactivate/activate, edit or delete the request field entirely.
